Domino x Crate&kids

Children’s Furniture Collection

Project Overview:

In the summer of 2020 I was approached to help design a furniture collection for a collaboration between Domino Magazine and Crate&kids. The collection, which included furniture, lighting, and textiles, aimed to blend Japanese simplicity with a SoCal-inspired fun and playful aesthetic.

I contributed designs for beds, shelving units, nightstands, and dressers, developed tech packs, and collaborated closely with product and strategy teams to determine colors, materials, and finishes.

Project Objectives:

  • To give kids the opportunity and confidence to create spaces that align with their own personal style.

  • To provide fun, playful storage solutions that empower children to keep their rooms tidy and organized.

  • To develop multiple families of furniture to be mixed and matched according to user preference and the limitations of the physical space.

  • To embrace the changes brought on by the pandemic in how family homes are used, by providing joyful, versatile, elevated kids’ furniture.
